Artist's Statement:
My concern has always been space, light and time. Apparent or less apparent order. Layering of space and time two and three dimensionally, often in three dimensional paintings or painted sculpture. I am interested in simultaneity and juxtaposition, and equally so as in any full scale range of expressive ideas and emotions, places where there is almost nothing. To invite moving among large three dimensional elements or wondering curiously among two dimensional lines, shapes, voids and surfaces . Sometimes to breathe the light and space it is, to enjoy the awkwardness of some beautiful place and take in the elegance and grace of a moment's visual event. There is a strong connection to process, to making, and in recent years to shaping meditative moments in the drawing of lines. Shaping visual contemplation.
